South East and Central Essex Mind offers volunteer opportunities for students as well as qualified counsellors who have completed a BACP recognised counselling diploma course, in our Southend office. South East and Central Essex Mind is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such works in accordance with their ethical guidelines

  • Relationship problems (Please note we do not offer couples counselling)
  • Work-related Stress
  • Issues linked to identifying as LGBT
  • A clinically-diagnosed mental health condition such as Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia and Personality Disorders.
  • Self-harm
  • Recovery from substance misuse issues
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Eating Disorders

Must have had (or be aiming towards) 40 hours of personal counselling
