Samuel Cheung - Person-Centred Therapists

MBACP Registered, Psychotherapeutic Counsellor in Hove and Horsham

Hello.

I am a qualified Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, providing counselling for individual adults in a safe, professional and confidential space. Both in-person and online. In-person sessions are available in Hove and Horsham.

You might be looking for a counsellor because of a specific issue such as anxiety, stress, low self-esteem or depression. Maybe you are experiencing a loss or bereavement. Or seeking support around addiction, trauma or difficulties in intimate relationships. There may be turbulent changes taking place in your life. A time of transition or maybe a stuckness.

Parts of life might feel burdensome, overwhelming or out of control. Perhaps you struggle with inner conflict, feeling out of sorts or at odds with yourself. As well as troubles experienced in conflict with others. Maybe it's a more general sense of unease or distress you are facing and want further understanding. That of yourself and your circumstances, your relating with others and the world around you.

Whatever you want to bring, I strive to offer an accepting and supportive environment where the pace and depth in which we work is of your choosing and invitational.

What To Expect -

I will pay close attention to what you might need from our work together, doing my utmost to walk alongside you in understanding, exploration and support. Acknowledging with regard and respect your experiences, thoughts, feelings and memories. Those of your present, here-and-now, as well as those past; how you came to be where you are. Inviting the whole of your experience and in my relating with you through such a process, we might explore the potentialities and possibilities by way of your deepening awareness, fuller experiencing, sense and meaning-making.

I believe the Psychotherapeutic Relationship is a collaborative one. A relationship that promotes, stimulates, and facilitates our meeting and connecting. As well as finding ways of working together that further your life in the direction you wish.

Practicalities -

I offer both short and long-term, open ended therapy. In-person (face-to-face), as well as online. Two locations for in-person therapy are available:

Brighton & Hove - 198 Church Road, Hove, BN3 2DJ

Horsham - Burford House, 26 Worthing Road, Horsham, RH12 1SL

Once agreed upon, our sessions each week will take place in the same location. At both locations parking is easy, with car park and supermarket parking near by. Various major bus routes servicing both Brighton & Hove and the Horsham area stop close to both practices and the local train stations are within a 15 minute walk or less.

For those who do not live locally, or require the flexibility of online counselling, sessions are via Google Meet or Skype.
