Understanding addiction and how to help, with George Hood – Saturday, 18th April 2020

George Hood has worked in drugs and alcohol treatment centres in London & Essex for over 10 years. He has experience of treating people both individually and in group settings and is passionate about helping others find a way through and beyond addictive and compulsive patterns of behaviour. In this day workshop, George will share information relevant to practitioners in private practice, including:
• Recognising drug & alcohol dependence in clients
• Ways to minimise harm & maintain a therapeutic alliance
• Models of Change; Models of Recovery
He holds a Diploma in addiction treatment from Broadreach House, a Diploma in Transaction Analysis and is currently working in a busy treatment centre in East London, when not sharing his time between private practice in Essex and a therapeutic community in Kent. https://www.warleyhillpractice.com/
